Penang – May 30, 2025: OPERiON, in collaboration with co-hosts JCI Bayan and Kolej Vokasional Batu Lanchang, and with the valued sponsorship support of OCBC Bank, successfully organized a large-scale tree planting initiative across Penang, bringing together five vocational colleges in a united environmental effort.
A total of 150 trees were planted — with each institution contributing 30 trees — marking a significant step forward in promoting sustainability and environmental education among youth. This meaningful event involved over 300 participants, including students, educators, corporate volunteers, and NGO representatives.
This year’s participating institutions included: Kolej Vokasional Batu Lanchang, Kolej Vokasional Balik Pulau, Kolej Vokasional Seberang Perai, Kolej Vokasional Butterworth, and Kolej Vokasional Nibong Tebal — all of whom played a vital role in making this initiative a success.

The event mobilized over 300 participants, including students, educators, NGO members, and corporate volunteers. It served not only as a tree-planting campaign but also as a platform to raise awareness about climate action and the power of partnership.
OPERiON’s CEO, Ts. Lukas J, emphasized the importance of continuity and leadership in such efforts:
“It started with just one school. Today, we are working with five. Our mission is to keep growing this initiative year after year — and we hope to inspire more companies to join us, not just follow us. Because when we lead with purpose, others will follow.”
This year’s event clearly demonstrates that meaningful outcomes are only possible through strong partnerships. Without the dedication and support of our co-hosts, sponsors, and all five colleges, none of this would have been possible. OPERiON expresses our deepest gratitude to every individual and organization involved.
We remain committed to driving environmental awareness through action and education, and we welcome more partners to join us as we continue expanding this initiative year by year — creating greater impact, together.
